KANZ Conference Activity Preparing your own promotional material.
It can be a challenge to obtain authentic promotional photos to promote our practices.
During our final session on Saturday afternoon, we will have different ‘back-drops’ set up around the room. You’ll be encouraged to take photos on each other’s phones and use other participants to be your background models.
One ‘back-drop’ will have a massage table so you can be photographed doing muscle testing.
If it is teaching you wish to promote, you could be in front of some props or a white board with some backs of heads being your class.
What do you use in your clinic – coloured bottles, colournostics etc? Bring them with you to conference and be photographed using them, even if it is just a close-up of your hands holding them.
Karen Humphries has generously agreed to offer two presentations at the upcoming conference. Whilst they will be different themes, one topic will definitely complement the other.
Presentation One – One Page Business Plan
Karen is a passionate kinesiology practitioner, and business mentor. She regularly works with new graduates or those wanting to grow their business into a full-time gig.
Karen’s background in business is rich and diverse, and her training programs (either self-paced learning or WorkWives Mentoring + Coaching Program) reiterate the need that every business requires to keep the doors open, and generate sustainable growth. The key is a robust foundation of systems that support the operator.
Karen’s One Page Business Plan training, takes participants through five modules, videos and workbooks which cover:
✅ professional development
✅ brand & marketing
✅ secret sauce
At conference, Karen will conduct an interactive workshop style presentation and cover the topic of NETWORKING!
Karen loves to champion small business owners who simply want to shine their light to the world. She is a mad advocate for recognising that we all operate our own beautiful businesses, we all still do our thing – and she loves to bring the tribe together for laughter, sharing and connection.
Join Karen and learn about the importance of networking and how this can immediately benefit your business. Join us at conference to learn how to manage your business fundamentals, so that your systems work for you, instead of you being a slave to admin. This creates more time for you to share your beautiful service to the world.
Presentation Two – Avalanche of Trauma Challenged Clients
Our global society has been subjected to an array of high stress events over the last three years, significantly impacting our local communities. On an individual level, we see this impact as practitioners with our clients, and the immediate impact to our businesses.
Within Karen’s network, she is presently focussed on three key things to ensure longevity in her business. They include:
- Self-care and her own exposure to vicarious trauma
- Business fundamentals for managing traumatised clients
- Practical tools for clinical practice (including your NETWORK)
This session will primarily focus on practical ways to utilise your network and be able to immediately implement after conference. Remember it takes a tribe to care for a community.
Hazel Hudson – Mindfulness Practitioner
Hazel began her mindfulness journey with Yoga in 1983. This practice included mindful breathing and meditation. Later in 1992, she began to learn Tai Chi and Qigong under Master Karel Koskuba of the CIAA (Chinese Internal Arts Association) in Bracknell, Berkshire.
Qigong practice typically involves moving meditation, coordinating slow-flowing movement, deep rhythmic breathing, and a calm meditative state of mind. In 1994 Hazel joined Tai Chi teacher, Jayne Storey in Surrey, and began to teach Tai Chi alongside her from 1997 until 2006 when she left the UK. She still practices.
In 2003 Hazel qualified as a Relax Kids Coach. Relax Kids was created by Marneta Viegas in 2000. As a children’s entertainer Marenta had noticed a change in children’s behaviour, she felt meditation and relaxation would help their concentration and focus. Her aim was to make meditation easy and accessible to children. She also developed a pioneering system to teach relaxation and self-awareness to children using a unique 7-step system – Move, Play, Stretch, Feel, Breathe, Believe and Relax. Hazel taught Relax Kids from 2003 to 2006 and found that the parents benefited more from her session than the children.
In 2007 Hazel became interested in Buddhist meditation practices and began following Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese Zen Master, scholar, and peacemaker. She joined the “The Long White Cloud Sangha” which is a community of practitioners in Auckland who meet regularly for evenings of mindfulness practice, meditation, to study the dharma, and to share days of mindfulness.
In addition to the above, Hazel qualified as an aromatherapist in 1993 and a NLK Kinesiologist in 2018.
Hazel will be taking us though some movement to start our conference day and then the Move, Play, Stretch, Feel, Breathe, Believe and Relax later in the program on Sunday morning.
Kata Mikecz – Sound Healing
Kata is a certified by the Sound Healing Academy, UK as a Sound Healing Practitioner. She provides one-to-one and sound bath sessions for groups too.
She has been working with sounds since 2011. When she received an e-mail from a friend of hers about a Tibetan Singing Bowl sound healing course, she knew it was calling her. It was love at first sight and the love got deeper and deeper over the years and through various experiences with a wide range of instruments.
Her mission is to help people facilitate their own healing with the sounds of the instruments and the sounds of one’s own. She believes in our body’s holistic intelligence and that with the right intention, we can help facilitate its healing, whether we are talking about physical, mental, emotional or on a spiritual level.
She works with people from all walks of life, including, but not limited to, neurodiverse people, children, pregnancy groups, yoga groups, Moon circles, and public sound baths. Her passion is to raise the consciousness on Earth and to help people overcome their traumas and evolve, whether they are young or old.
One of her clients said: “Her empathetic, non-judgmental, gentle, open, and authentic personality brings ease to the session and creates a safe space for people to feel heard, seen, and relaxed.”
“In sound we are born, in sound we are healed.”
